Christopher Mwase was born July 29, 1983, and grew up in Zambia’s capital city, Lusaka. He accepted Christ at the age of 25 and felt God calling him to full-time ministry. After graduating from Rhema Bible Training College, Chris worked at a Baptist church in Lusaka as a church administrator for three years. He joined the New Day family in February 2019 after marrying our social worker, Elizabeth Chungu.
Chris Serves as our Pre-Teen/Youth Coordinator and Minister. His primary role is to provide overall leadership to the Pre-Teen and Youth of New Day for the purpose of spiritual, social, and moral development, and to give direction for the various areas of ministry involving this age group. Chris is full of energy, a hard worker, and he loves to laugh. He is a great addition to our New Day family.
Elizabeth Chungu Mwase was born on January 2, 1982, in Choma. She joined the New Day family in February of 2011. She serves as the Social Welfare liaison between New Day and the Zambian Government. She is also responsible for identifying children in need and helping to determine how the orphanage can best assist these children.
Elizabeth obtained a certificate in Social Work in 2010. Upon graduation, she received various job offers, but instead of taking a higher-paying job, she felt God calling her to New Day. In addition to working with our children, she is also looking for ways to improve the standard of living for women in Mapanza. Since accepting Christ in 2005, Elizabeth’s life has undergone a radical change. She is able to share her faith effectively whenever and wherever God leads.
Chris and Elizabeth have 3 children – Machila, CJ, and Chara Leigh.
