Malilwe was born March 20, 2008 in Mbabala. Her mother died in 2011, and her father died in December of 2013. She lived with her uncle and then her grandmother before coming to New Day. Malilwe’s uncle lives near the orphanage and came to request that we take his niece. When we visited her grandmother’s village, their maize bin for food storage was completely empty. They were truly a family in need.
Malilwe arrived at New Day in February of 2014.
