Chileleko was born on 25 April 2019. His father has died and his mother is mentally unstable. He has five other siblings that are being taken care of by different relatives because on several occasions his mother had threatened to kill all of her children. Chileleko and his family used to live in a grass-thatched one-roomed house and his family only managed to eat two meals a day. Due to the mother's condition of being mentally unsound, she was unfit to care for him. She demonstrated that by threatening her own children as well as other people. It was for these reasons that social welfare recommended that he be committed to the care of new day orphanage.
Chileleko came to New Day on 6 November 2019 when he was seven months old.
