Our Vision
Our Vision
The vision of the New Day Orphanage is to give Zambian orphans hope for the future by fusing together three necessary elements to success in this third world country. They are:
Christian Worldview--We will teach the orphans about Jesus and His love for them from a very young age. The children will be taught to turn to Jesus for answers to their problems instead of turning to a witch doctor. Our goal is that these children see themselves as servants of God, called to minister to those around them and spread the message of the Gospel to their own people.
Zambian Culture--The children will live in homes with a Zambian mother who will help ensure that they do not lose aspects of their own culture that will be vital once they leave the orphanage. The orphans will cook nshima, tell stories around the fire, interact with children in the nearby villages, and will not lose their identity as Zambians. If these children are to be the leaders of tomorrow for Zambia, they must be able to identify with their home culture.
Quality Education--The orphans will be given a quality education from preschool through grade 12, in the hopes that they will continue on to a University setting. New Day will use a mixture of Zambian and American teachers to ensure that every child receives the best education possible. In keeping with the commitment to Zambian culture, the children will also be taught trades such as construction, farming, and sewing. The goal is that every student will be equipped to provide for his or her household, as well as give back to the community.
The New Day Vision
Please pray specifically for these three elements for New Day. Although we can lay out a vision in a nice, neat three-step plan, without the direct intervention of the Holy Spirit to mold and shape these children, all our efforts will be in vain.
