Situated just 5 kilometers from New Day sits Kabanga Basic School. This rural community school serves approximately 500 students in our community from Preschool to Grade 7. With a teacher to student ratio of 1 to 60 and no textbooks for the students, the teachers face a great challenge to educate these children.
New Day has come alongside Kabanga Basic School since 2013 – providing school supplies, leading teacher training seminars, and utilizing volunteer teachers from the USA to help teach classes. It is our hope that through this partnership, the teachers at Kabanga will be encouraged, and the children that live around New Day will begin to receive an education that will truly help them succeed in life.
